Anarsa is a delicious sweet dish prepared specially on Diwali and Adhik Mahina as a tradition. It can be served both as dessert and as a snack item. Abhyankar’s Anarasa Pith makes it come out very well. It is a healthy, crispy and reasonably sweet.
दिवाळी फराळातला महत्वाचा आणि बहुतेकांचा आवडता पदार्थ म्हणजे अनारसा. अधिक महिन्यात जावयाला वाण देतानाही अनारसे हवेतच. एक सणासुदीचा गोड पदार्थ आणि एक स्नॅक आयटम म्हणजे अनारसा. गृहिणींना अनारसे करणं किचकट वाटतं पण अभ्यंकर यांचे अनारसा पिठ वापरुन खुसखुशीत अनारसे करणं आता अगदी सोपं आहे.
Recipe :
- In a bowl take Abhyankar Anarsa pith, Elachi powder and jaggery and mix it well.
- Then sprinkle little milk and start kneading the dough. It must be a soft dough. Let the dough rest for 30 to 40 mins. Cover it with clean cloth.
- Make the small 1 inch size balls from this dough. Use a plastic sheet and sprinkle some poppy seeds on it. Take the small ball and press over poppy seeds.
- Rotate and thin the ball 2 to 3 inch diameter size round with hands. Heat ghee in a frying pan. Fry the aanarsa in it with poppy seed side up.
- Deep fry till it gets golden in color at medium heat. Keep pouring the hot oil on the center of the aanarsa so that it gets evenly brown.
- Drain and keep aside to cool. When its completely cool , store it in air tight container.
